Startup & performance, in depth.

Fixato shows what loads when your PC boots and which services run in the background — and explains why each one matters, so you can cut the fat without breaking anything.

In plain language

A slow start usually isn't mysterious: it's a pile of programs launching at boot that you never asked for. Fixato lists them, tells you what each does, and lets you switch off the ones you don't need.

Under the hood

It reads startup entries, services and running processes (read-only), estimates each one's boot impact, and only disables an item after you confirm — nothing is force-removed.

What loads at boot

See exactly what slows your start.

Each startup item, its impact, and what it actually is — so "disable" is an informed choice, not a gamble.

  • Every boot item, with a plain-English description.
  • Impact rated from real data, not guesses.
  • You choose what to disable — always reversible.

What it inspects

Where the boot time actually goes.

Read-only. Fixato maps the startup surface so the slowdown has a name.

Startup programs

Everything set to launch when Windows starts, explained one by one — what it is and what it's for, so "disable" is an informed choice.

Services

Background services that run whether you use them or not, with their startup type.

Named toolget_services_status

Resource load

Which running programs are eating CPU and memory right now, named individually rather than as one alarming total.

Named toolsget_resource_usageget_cpu_load_by_process

Background schedulers

Tasks third-party software quietly scheduled on your machine. Windows' own tasks are left out — they're not the problem.

Named toollist_scheduled_tasks

Actual boot time

What your boot really takes, from Windows' own measurement — so "it got slower" is a number, not an impression.

What it tunes (with your yes)

Then it trims — carefully.

Each change needs your confirmation, each one is something you can switch back on, and Fixato only proposes what it can justify from the readings above.

Disable a startup item

Stops a chosen program from launching at boot. The entry is saved before it's removed, so it can be put back.

Named tooldisable_startup_item

Adjust a service

Changes a genuinely non-essential service's startup type. Services Windows needs are refused outright — it can't disable those even if asked.

Named toolset_service_startup

Disable a scheduled task

Switches off a background task third-party software installed. Anything under Windows' own task folders is refused by design.

Named tooldisable_scheduled_task

Set the power plan

Switches to a performance-oriented power plan when you want maximum responsiveness. One click to switch back.

Repair a broken Start menu

Re-registers the built-in Windows apps when the Start menu or search has stopped responding.

Safe by design.
